Millions of people have some sort of digestion pain every single day. Whether it?s the normal heartburn or a more serious type of chronic pain, many times the reasons are the same.
We?ll be discussing the #1 most important reason why you are feeling digestive pain. We?ll also touch on what can be done about it.
Caution: Before taking any actions always call or visit your doctor and tell them what you?re going to do. It just may save your life!
1. The most common reason why you have digestive pain.
If I had to say one thing caused digestive pain, it would be an excess of stomach acid ? hands down. This causes so many problems for people that it?s insane. It may bounce around in the stomach, or it might go up to the throat area, or stay in the chest? Acid is a problem!
Keep in mind that the acid itself will be somewhere, so the pain will be in a similar spot too.
Here?s a quick example: If you are feeling pain in the chest area, it might be heartburn. The acid will go up (called acid-reflux.) This is when the main pain will be sent up towards the chest or even throat area, and that?s why people have to sleep on blocks under their bed to keep the acid down (go gravity!)
2. Treatments for too much acid
If you ask a doctor for some sort of medication then you?ll probably receive something like Prevacid, Protonix, or Carafate. These are all great and work wonders for some people, but they do cause ugly side-effects for others. It?s important to do as your doctor says though.
If you are wondering exactly how these drugs work to help you, it?s pretty straight-forward. Sometimes they will stop the production of acid in the stomach (which is kinda drastic, since we need acid.)
Carafate and similar drugs like Pepto-Bismol are great for helping you to be able to keep a meal down without having intense pain after you?re done.
Beneficial alternatives may be useful to provide help to cure acid-reflux.
